Dear Friends and Crew,
After a hiatus, we are making push for the month of February. I’ve been going through the design, making refinements since Burning Man and Zero One. John Porter has been working continuously since then, dealing with details and prep— like sorting out the the hydraulics and simplifying the controls. With the help of Jason, we have stripped out the temporary peg board interior. We will remove the body this week from the frame. The goal is to get the fundaments in place for the tilt mechanism to activate Maria’s totem/standing mode. Two new sets of hydraulics!
Jomo, the intern who was here from Austria last summer, is back for a break in his schooling. He is laying out the rest of the the holes for the side that has not been drilled. So, I am hoping to rally some hot drilling action over the next few weekends.
I will be at NIMBY from noon till 6 Saturday and Sunday, and hope you will join. As usual, I will provide food and drink and lots of glorious power tools!If by chance you have time during the week, John, Jomo and myself will be there in the afternoons as well.
NIMBY has new lighting, so it feels less medieval now. Last weekend, there was lots of other work going on in the space- good energy….
