February 5 - 6, 2011

2/5 - Jomo has spent the week laying out the templates on the passenger side. John has reshaped and strengthened the tops of the doors. Working with Jason, we prepare to cut the body (tilt frame) off the toplink. Shiming and blocking. Sawzall and cutting torch. Andrew and Ethan work on deburring some old drill holes, and Sean shows up just as we are about to make the big move. A small hitch — the temporary toplink support is entangled with the tilt frame. Must cut it out and reposition. The rest of the day is spent cleaning up the top link and  prepping for reinforcements. We weigh the car (1400lbs) and determine center of balance (Thanks Dave!) Drilling begins again for the first time since last summer!

2/6 - Jason and I work together. He cleans up the toplink. I layout for the left cylinder bottom yoke. Sean comes by again for a few hours and drills on the right side door. I work on finishing up the rear.
